Callsign prefixes

Type a callsign to see its DXCC entity and, for the big countries, its call area. Below, every entity prefix and the call areas of the United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Russia and New Zealand.

Look up a callsign

The prefix tells where a call was issued, not always where the operator is: DL1ABC/P on an Italian summit is still German.

In these countries the digit or the letters of the prefix name a region.

In the UK the letters after G or M name the home nation, and 2E or M3 style prefixes the licence class.
