SSTV: what it is and where to find it on the bands
SSTV, slow scan television: pictures sent over voice frequencies, a few dozen seconds each.
Slow scan television sends a picture as audio over an SSB channel. A frame takes from a few seconds to a couple of minutes, depending on the mode.
Activity gathers on a few calling frequencies, the best known on 20 metres. The International Space Station sends SSTV on 2 metres FM during special events.
SSTV spots are rare on the DX clusters but common on special-event days.
