FMIn the HamQSO filter: Phone
FM: what it is and where to find it on the bands
FM: the mode of repeaters and local contacts on VHF and UHF, and of the top of 10 metres.
Frequency modulation gives clean audio and needs no tuning, which makes it the standard for repeaters, handheld radios and local nets.
On HF it only lives at the top of 10 metres. On 6 metres, 2 metres and 70 centimetres it fills the upper parts of the band.
FM spots on the clusters are mostly SOTA activations from summits with a handheld, and the occasional 10 metre opening.
