About South Georgia Island
South Georgia Island is DXCC entity 235, in South America, CQ zone 13 and ITU zone 73.
Standard time there is UTC-2; stations licensed there sign with VP0G.
Also in CQ zone 13, and often workable on the same openings: Antarctica, Argentina, Falkland Islands, South Orkney Islands, South Sandwich Islands, South Shetland Islands, and Uruguay.
South Georgia, in CQ zone 13 and ITU zone 73, is a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic with no permanent population. Access is by ship, and the territory's government requires landing permits and strict biosecurity measures. Club Log ranked it eighth on its Most Wanted list in 2016; the end-of-2025 snapshot archived by HamGallery shows it 25th.

Working a DXpedition
Listen before you call: most DXpeditions work split, transmitting on one frequency and listening a few kilohertz up, and the operator says where. Call with your full callsign once, then listen again.
On FT8, teams using Fox/Hound sit on their own frequencies, away from the normal FT8 dial. Check the official website for the frequencies, the log search and the QSL route, and do not work the same band and mode twice.
