Bands during the contest

It runs on 80 m, 40 m, 20 m, 15 m, and 10 m.

160 m is not part of it and stays free.

It runs in CW, SSB, and RTTY, so both the CW and the phone segments are busy.

The WARC bands (30, 17 and 12 m) stay contest-free by IARU agreement: that is where DXpeditions and quiet QSOs go.

Taking part

You do not need to be a contester to hand out a few points: answer a CQ, give the exchange exactly as the rules ask, and log the contact. Most organisers take logs in Cabrillo format through an upload page, with a deadline a few days after the end, and even a short log helps the checking. Check-logs are welcome too.

It is one of the 31 contests in the HamQSO calendar, and the feed adds its next editions to your calendar.

Official rules

The rules are published by DARC. They change from year to year: read them before you send a log.
